Under a rare super blue moon, I stepped onto a lush summer garden to introduce our season’s collection at the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer 2018. In the midst of fresh blossoms, love and laughter, Songs of Summer was all about the magical wedding made of dreams.
A symphony of subtle pastels and exquisite light fabrics, the Summer Collection is a fine blend of rich luxurious handcrafts and printed stories of love.
Bringing back the magic of the 50s, Songs of Summer showcased breezy midi skirts, jumpsuits, cool wrap tops, elegant long-line jackets, tunics and crop tops that shared the ramp with classic lehengas and draped saris in light-weight handwoven silk, chanderi, mul and cotton in Benaras.
The beautiful couple Shahid and Mira Kapoor made their runway debut as showstoppers on our aisles of verdant nature. A vision in white, Mira wore a handwoven Benarasi Lehenga with pastel floral motifs with an embroidered organza dupatta and our handcrafted Fine Jadau Jewellery. And our debonair groom Shahid Kapoor donned a white malkha Sherwani with intricate embroideries and our signature elephant motif crafted onto his collar.
Humming the Songs of Summer, me and my beloved guests took home a mirage of blossoming gardens on luxurious fabrics and fond memories of a summer wedding.
