This dress is a labour of love, hand block printed by local artisans in small batches at their own pace in a remote village in India. This type of hand block print takes time and is an extremely complex process. Using hand carved wooden blocks, motifs are carefully printed with a resist of mud paste on to the fabric. Sawdust is sprinkled on the fabric to prevent smudging, then dried under the sun and dyed in an indigo vat. Dabu hand block printing requires patience, precision and extensive practise.
Lightweight, regular fit, a-line, asymmetrical hemline, gathered full sleeves with a v-neckline.
Artisanal product: slight imperfections and some colour variation may occur, a feature distinct to handcrafts, making your garment unique to you.
