This dress is a labour of love, hand block printed by local artisans in small batches at their own pace in a remote village in India. This type of hand block print takes time and is an extremely complex process. Using hand carved wooden blocks, motifs are carefully printed with a resist of a mud paste and several mordants on to the fabric. The fabric then dried under the sun and dyed in an indigo vat. Ajrak hand block printing requires patience, precision and extensive practice. This truly is slow fashion.
Lightweight, a-line, sleeveless, v-neck with an asymmetrical ruffled hemline and a belt.
Artisanal product: slight imperfections and some colour variation may occur, a feature distinct to handcrafts, making your garment unique to you.
