This top is a labour of love, hand block printed by local artisans in small batches at their own pace in a remote village in India. This type of hand block print takes time and is an extremely complex process. Using hand carved wooden blocks, motifs are carefully printed with a resist of a mud paste and several mordants on to the fabric. The fabric then dried under the sun and dyed in an indigo vat. Ajrak hand block printing requires patience, precision and extensive practise.
